What Residence course participants say
I attended my first TM retreat in August last year and found it to be the most wonderful reset I needed. In the lead up, I had been avoiding my TM practice due to some life challenges and trying to avoid what was coming up when I went quiet. The retreat truly helped me "clear out" a lot of what I had been avoiding so I could again experience the benefits of regular TM practice. I found the changes in my inner state following the retreat flowed into my normal life in so many powerful ways.
I have attended at least one retreat per year since I began my TM, so 9-10 approx and I would totally recommend this for all, whether beginners, many years in, steady with TM, or on and off. The benefits that I have found are: Getting back into the habit if strayed from consistency at all, Meeting new and like-minded people and catching up with previous friends, Group meditation and discussion afterward that has opened my eyes to what others experience and better understanding my own experiences, Information sessions recorded by Maharishi , The yoga, breathing, meditation, rest sessions: in the privacy of your own room and being able to go your own pace, Info sessions by Wendy and others: new info, timely reminders, increased understanding each time, getting back to the basics, very patient with ensuring all questions are answered, The glorious, yummy vegetarian food, Extraordinary location of the eco-lodge at Glass House Mountains for walking, exploring, the peace and tranquillity of nature, And the lodge itself / the uniqueness of the rooms and buildings, train carriages, chapels – with their own orchard and gardens incorporating many interesting art pieces to check out.
"The TM Retreat I attended last year (set in a pleasant environment conducive to reflection and with delicious meals provided), proved to be a wonderful way to meet and share information and experiences regarding my own TM practice with other attendees and experienced teachers, so as to fine-tune my TM technique. I was also fortunate to be able to learn an Advanced Technique during the Retreat."
